The invention discloses an electric vacuum boosting braking system and method. The system comprises an electric vacuum boosting braking device and a controller, the braking device comprises an electric vacuum booster connected with a pedal, the electric vacuum booster comprises a high-pressure air chamber equal to the atmospheric pressure and a low-pressure air chamber connected with a vacuum pump, and air can be pumped out of the low-pressure air chamber; the high-pressure air chamber and the low-pressure air chamber are separated by an internal partition plate, the vacuum degree sensor is arranged in the low-pressure air chamber, the controller comprises a single-chip microcomputer, an air pressure sensor, a power supply module and an intelligent power driving switch, the vacuum degree sensor and the air pressure sensor are in signal connection with the single-chip microcomputer, and the single-chip microcomputer controls on and off of the intelligent power driving switch through the power supply module. The intelligent power driving switch is electrically connected with the vacuum pump. The method corresponds to the system. The problem that the vacuum pressure switch is prone to failure due to aging can be effectively solved, and the purpose of conveniently conducting fault recognition and processing on the vacuum pump is achieved.
