The monitoring method comprises the following steps: detecting whether people exist in a car of the construction hoist; under the condition that the person exists in the car, obtaining safety helmet wearing information of each person in the car, the safety helmet wearing information being configured to be correctly worn or incorrectly worn; and under the condition that one or more pieces of safety helmet wearing information in all the safety helmet wearing information are not worn correctly, giving out a violation alarm. On the basis that the operation safety of the construction hoist is guaranteed, the safety of personnel is further guaranteed; and image AI identification is combined with traditional sensor identification, so that the safety monitoring is more accurate.
