The invention relates to the technical field of robots, in particular to an air-drop type photovoltaic panel cleaning robot which comprises a flying device, a dropping device and a cleaning device. The dropping device is used for connecting the flying device and the cleaning device. The dropping device comprises a first holding cavity and a first baffle arranged in an opening of the first holding cavity. The cleaning device comprises a first clamping pin, a second clamping pin and a recognition assembly, wherein the recognition assembly is used for controlling the first clamping pin and the second clamping pin to be connected to the first baffle in a clamped mode or be separated from the first baffle. After the cleaning device is transported to a destination through the flying device, the situation that the cleaning device reaches the upper surface of a photovoltaic panel needing to be cleaned is determined through the recognition assembly, then the first clamping pin and the second clamping pin are separated from the first baffle, and the cleaning device falls on the upper surface of the photovoltaic panel to conduct cleaning; and after cleaning is completed, the relative positions of the cleaning device and the dropping device are judged to be proper through the recognition assembly, and then the first clamping pin and the second clamping pin are connected to the dropping device in a clamped mode to accomplish recovery of the sweeping device.
