According to the unmanned equipment protection method and the unmanned equipment, before an obstacle collides with the unmanned equipment, the hydraulic pressure currently needed by a hydraulic device of the unmanned equipment is determined according to the type of the obstacle with the risk of collision with the unmanned equipment larger than a risk threshold value; and then, the hydraulic pressure of a hydraulic cylinder in the hydraulic device is adjusted to the currently required hydraulic pressure, so structural rigidity of the hydraulic device is adjusted, and the unmanned equipment is protected based on the adjusted structural rigidity of the hydraulic device; wherein structural rigidity of the unmanned equipment is in positive correlation with structural rigidity of the hydraulic device. In the method, before the obstacle collides with the unmanned equipment, structural rigidity of the unmanned equipment is adjusted, so damage to the obstacle and the unmanned equipment caused by collision is reduced.
