Systems and methods for implementing dynamic operating modes and control strategies for a hybrid vehicle are disclosed. Disclosed in one embodiment is a method comprising determining a state of charge (SOC) of the battery; determining a speed of the vehicle; if the SOC is larger than a specified first threshold value, selecting an electric quantity consumption working mode of the vehicle; and during the running period of the vehicle, if the SOC is less than a specified second threshold value, selecting an electric quantity keeping working mode of the vehicle. In another embodiment, a system is disclosed having a controller that operates a powertrain system according to various embodiments.
