The invention discloses a self-adaptive buffering device of an escalator additional brake. The self-adaptive buffering device comprises a ratchet wheel installed on a main driving shaft and a pawl hinged to a frame body, and the pawl is driven by an electromagnetic switch to rotate so as to lock the ratchet wheel or unlock the ratchet wheel. The pawl is composed of a pawl tip section, a pawl root section, a buffering assembly and an automatic adjusting assembly, the pawl tip section and the pawl root section are connected through the automatic adjusting assembly, and the buffering assembly is arranged between the pawl tip section and the pawl root section in a cushioned mode. The automatic adjusting assembly can measure pressure data applied to the pawl root section by the pawl tip section through the buffering assembly and change the distance between the pawl tip section and the pawl root section so as to adjust the buffering effect of the buffering assembly. The buffering assembly is additionally arranged between the pawl tip section and the pawl root section, when the additional brake acts, the impact force of the ratchet wheel can be effectively reduced through the buffering assembly at the moment that the ratchet wheel is clamped by the pawl, and therefore the effect of stably stopping a main drive is achieved. The pawl further monitors the pressure value transmitted by the buffering assembly in the braking process through the automatic adjusting assembly, and the distance between the two sections of the pawl is adjusted according to the pressure value.
