The invention discloses a double-lifting-appliance swing angle detection device and method based on an ultrasonic ranging principle. The device comprises first shells, wherein lifting ropes penetrate through the first shells to be connected with lifting appliances; second shells which are arranged at the bottoms of the interiors of the first shells and located on one sides of the lifting ropes; frames arranged on the second shells; signal processing devices arranged on the frames; supports arranged on the top faces of the second shells; balls arranged in the supports and movably connected with the supports; shot bodies arranged in the second shells; hollow metal sleeves penetrating through the balls and connected with the shot bodies; ultrasonic ranging devices which are arranged at the bottoms of the centers of the shot bodies and connected with the signal processing devices; and a computer which is arranged on a trolley and connected with the signal processing devices. The double-lifting-appliance swing angle detection device and method can detect the swing angle information and the swing angle direction of the lifting ropes.
