The invention discloses an intelligent robot which comprises a robot main body and an environment sensing device; the robot main body comprises a main body and a protective side plate movably connected to the main body; the protective side plate is provided with a hollowed-out area extending in the circumferential direction, and a containing cavity is defined by the main body and the protective side plate; the environment sensing device is mounted in the containing cavity and adjacent to the protective side plate, at least part of the environment sensing device is right opposite to the hollowed-out area, and the environment sensing device can receive and send environment sensing signals within a preset scanning angle range; and at least part of the environment sensing signal passes throughthe hollow-out area. The hollowed-out area does not reflect or lose environmental sensing signals, the situation that the environmental sensing device is too close to the protection side plate, and consequently signal reflection is caused to form interference signals can be avoided, and the sensing precision and the working reliability of the environmental sensing device can be improved.
