The invention discloses a charging system for a rail transit system and the rail transit system; the rail transit system comprises a rail and a vehicle running along the rail; the charging system comprises a current collector, a current supply device, a signal contactor and a signal collector; the current collector is arranged on the vehicle, and the current supply device is arranged on the rail and is suitable for being electrically connected with the current collector. The signal contactor is arranged on a vehicle; the signal collector is arranged on the rail and is configured to be in contact electric connection with the signal contactor so as to collect signals, and the signal collector communicates with the current supply device so as to enable the current supply device to charge thevehicle according to the signals collected by the signal collector. The charging system for the rail transit system is simple in structure and stable in signal transmission, the automation degree canbe conveniently improved, and the labor cost is reduced.
