The invention relates to a stepping type auxiliary robot for a power transmission tower. The auxiliary robot comprises an upper climbing assembly and a lower climbing assembly which are arranged at intervals in the vertical direction, wherein the upper climbing assembly comprises two upper connecting pieces which are arranged at an included angle; the upper connecting piece is rotatably provided with an upper limiting piece; the lower climbing assembly comprises two lower connecting pieces which are arranged at an included angle; the lower connecting piece is rotatably provided with a lower limiting piece; the upper connecting piece and the lower connecting piece are selectively connected with foot nails of the power transmission tower through the upper limiting piece and the lower limiting piece respectively; and a driving device is arranged between the upper climbing assembly and the lower climbing assembly and can drive the upper climbing assembly and the lower climbing assembly toget close to or away from each other. The upper climbing assembly and the lower climbing assembly are arranged at intervals in the vertical direction, the driving device used for driving the upper climbing assembly and the lower climbing assembly to get close to each other and get away from each other is arranged between the upper climbing assembly and the lower climbing assembly, the driving device drives the upper climbing assembly and the lower climbing assembly to move along the power transmission tower in a stepping mode, and the auxiliary robot has the characteristics of simple structureand autonomous climbing.
