The invention discloses a hoisting tool and method for a dual-fuel diesel engine cylinder block. The cylinder block is provided with a Glan hole. The hoisting tool comprises a shaft, a support, a lifting lug, a spring, a steel ball and a nut, wherein the support is provided with a bearing surface, a locating surface and a conical guide surface, an arc guide rail groove is formed in the support, three hemispherical surface grooves are formed in the center and two side ends of the arc guide rail groove respectively, a cylindrical blind hole is formed in the outer side surface of a shaft sleeve,the shaft and the nut enable the support and the lifting lug to be hinged together in a relative rotation mode, and the spring and the steel ball are arranged in the cylindrical blind hole; under theaction of the spring, the steel ball protrudes into each of the three hemispherical surface grooves to lock the support and the lifting lug at three different relative positions; and the guide surfaceof the support guides the locating surface to enter the Glan hole and realize automatic centering, and the bearing surface is attached to the end surface of the Glan hole, so that the gravity centerof the hoisting tool, the gravity center of a steel wire rope and the gravity center of the cylinder block are located in the same vertical line, and automatic locating and stable hoisting of the cylinder block are realized. The hoisting tool and method have the functions of automatic centering and self-locking, so that production efficiency is improved, a potential safety hazard is eliminated, and operation conditions are improved.
