The airplane wheel driving mechanism comprises an air collecting cover and a brake fan follow-up device. The air collecting cover is fixedly connected to a hub of an undercarriage. One side of the brake fan follow-up device is fixedly connected to the air collecting cover, the other side of the brake fan follow-up device is fixedly connected to the fan driving shaft, and the air collecting cover, the brake fan follow-up device and the fan driving shaft are coaxially installed around the axis. The brake fan follow-up device is configured in the mode that when the brake fan is driven by the hub to rotate, the brake fan follow-up device transmits rotation of the air collecting cover to the fan driving shaft, and when the brake fan is driven by a motor to rotate, the brake fan follow-up deviceprevents rotation of the fan driving shaft from being transmitted to the air collecting cover. According to the driving method of the brake fan, when the hub rotates, the motor driving mechanism is ina non-working state, and the airplane wheel driving mechanism is in a working state. Therefore, energy is saved.
