The invention relates to the technical field of hoisting machinery and discloses a driving device and an overhead traveling crane. The driving device is used for driving wheels on the overhead traveling crane. The wheels include the driving wheel and the driven wheel. The driving device comprises a prime motor and a transmission mechanism, wherein an output shaft of the prime motor is connected toa wheel axle of the driving wheel and can drive the driving wheel to rotate; the transmission mechanism comprises a driving pulley connected to the driving wheel and further comprises a driven pulleyand a belt which are connected to the driven wheel. The belt is wound around the driving pulley and the driven pulley. In the starting process, the driving wheel and the driven wheel matched with thedriving wheel to run can roll on a guide rail simultaneously. In the braking process, the driving wheel and the driven wheel matched with the driving wheel to run can stop rolling on the guide rail simultaneously. Friction force between the matched driving wheel and driven wheel and the surface of the guide rail can serve as counter-acting force to be applied to the whole overhead traveling crane. Thus, on the premise that the rated output power of the motor meets the requirement, the driving device increases the driving force for driving the overhead traveling crane to run.

    本发明涉及起重机械技术领域,公开一种驱动装置及天车。该驱动装置用于驱动天车上的车轮,车轮包括主动车轮和从动车轮,驱动装置包括:原动机,原动机的输出轴连接于主动车轮的轮轴,能够驱动主动车轮转动;传动机构,传动机构包括连接于主动车轮的主动带轮、连接于从动车轮的从动带轮和皮带,皮带绕过主动带轮和从动带轮。在起动时,主动车轮和与其配套运转的从动车轮能够一同在导轨上滚动;制动时,主动车轮和与其配套运转的从动车轮能够一同在导轨上停止滚动。其中,相配套的主动车轮和从动车轮与导轨面之间的摩擦力均能够作为反作用力作用在整个天车上。以此,在电机额定输出功率满足要求的前提下,该驱动装置增加了天车运行的驱动力。
