The invention relates to an alternating current transmission diesel locomotive resistance braking system comprising a diesel engine, a three-phase alternator, a high-voltage rectifying device, a high-voltage direct current power supply bus, a resistance braking converter, a resistance unit, a high-voltage three-phase switch, a filter device, a power supply transformer, a diesel engine heat dissipation device, a cooling fan alternating current motor set, a traction converter, and a three-phase asynchronous traction motor. The diesel engine, the three-phase alternator, the high-voltage three-phase switch and the high-voltage rectifying device are connected in order. The output end of the high-voltage rectifying device is connected with the resistance braking converter and the traction converter through the high-voltage direct current power supply bus. The resistance braking converter is further connected to the resistance unit and the traction converter is further connected to the three-phase asynchronous traction motor. The diesel engine heat dissipation device is located between the resistance unit and the cooling fan alternating current motor set. The cooling fan alternating current motor set is further connected to the filter device. By using original locomotive inside devices, the alternating current of an alternating current transmission diesel locomotive is realized and the maintenance cost of carbon brush replacement is reduced.
