The invention discloses a climbing robot for probing spacecraft surfaces. The climbing robot comprises a robot body, a plurality of multi-joint supporting legs which are mounted around the robot body and are used for moving and adjusting the posture of the robot body, and an electrostatic absorption module, wherein the electrostatic absorption module comprises absorptive pole plates which are respectively mounted on supporting feet of the multi-joint supporting legs, and generators which apply high voltage static electricity to the absorptive pole plates; dielectric media on the spacecraft surfaces are subjected to physical polarization under the effect of a high-voltage electrostatic field, and generate polarization charges of which the polarity is opposite to the polarity of free charges of the absorptive pole plates, so that the absorptive pole plates are absorbed on the spacecraft surfaces. According to the climbing robot for probing the spacecraft surfaces, an electrostatic adsorption technology is adopted; the climbing robot achieves the effects that in a spatial microgravity environment, the climbing robot can climb onto any spacecraft, and is flexible to operate, small in size and low in power consumption; the climbing robot is suitable for performing exploration and detection on the spacecraft surfaces, and is high in practicability.
