The invention discloses a self-energized magneto-rheological shock absorber system used for an automotive suspension. The self-energized magneto-rheological shock absorber system used for the automotive suspension comprises a magneto-rheological shock absorber, a vibration energy recycling device, an energy management unit and a control unit, wherein the vibration energy recycling device can recycle vibration energy of an automobile; the recycled energy is supplied to the magneto-rheological shock absorber and the control unit through the energy management unit in an electricity mode; redundant electric energy is stored in an on-board battery; when the automobile starts or vibrates gently, the energy management unit utilizes the electric energy of the on-board battery to supply electricity to the magneto-rheological shock absorber and the control unit; the control unit adjusts the damp of the magneto-rheological shock absorber continuously in a real-time and stepless mode according to the operation state of the automobile and the running road condition, and then running smoothness and handling stability of the automobile are improved. The novel self-energized magneto-rheological shock absorber system is simple, small and exquisite in structure, low in energy consumption, high in efficiency, low in cost and easy to achieve.
