The invention discloses an unpiloted meteorological detection boat driven by solar energy and a detection method of the unpiloted meteorological detection boat. The unpiloted meteorological detection boat comprises a solar-energy electric power device, an electric power pushing device, a meteorological detection instrument and a computer control device, wherein the solar-energy electric power device is arranged above a boat body of the detection boat and used for transforming solar energy into electric energy and supplying electricity for the power pushing device, the meteorological detection instrument and the computer control device; the electric power pushing device is used for pushing the detection boat to move forwards and controlling and regulating the forward moving direction of the detection boat; the meteorological detection instrument is used for detecting and outputting meteorological data within a region range in which the detection boat locates; the computer control device is used for controlling the electric power pushing device to operate according to a detection instruction so as to drive the detection boat to move forwards and control and regulate the forward moving direction of the detection boat, and besides the computer control device is used for receiving the meteorological data outputted by the meteorological detection instrument, storing the received meteorological data, and/or performing long-range output. According to the unpiloted meteorological detection boat driven by the solar energy and the detection method of the unpiloted meteorological detection boat, which are disclosed by the invention, the detection boat has extra-long endurance and extra-long operational time, can move to perform uninterrupted meteorological detection on a certain region of an ocean, and is flexible and convenient.
