The invention discloses a mobile robot capable of walking on the ground and crawling on a flexible surface. The mobile robot comprises a head and a main body connected with the head, wherein the head comprises a clamping mechanism; the clamping mechanism comprises two clamping arms; a motor is arrange on each clamping arm; a first rolling wheel is arranged at the output end of each motor; under the action of the clamping mechanisms, the first rolling wheels on the clamping arms can clamp two sides of an object and roll along the object; second rolling wheels are arranged on the outer sides of the clamping arms and correspond to the first rolling wheels; a rolling wheel bracket which can drive the second and first rolling wheels on the same clamping arm to match or separate is arranged on the clamping mechanism; when the second and first rolling wheels are matched, eccentric friction transmission is performed between the circumference surface of the first rolling wheel and the axial end surface of the second rolling wheel. The mobile robot is light, handy and convenient, and can both crawl on the ground and climb vertically, so that the problems that the conventional crawling robot is large in size, heavy in weight, and relatively low in stability and safety are solved.
