The invention provides a method for predicting the remaining travel time of a vehicle, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining the length of each road segment of the remaining travel, and obtaining a speed sequence of each road segment of the remaining travel, wherein the speed sequence of each road segment comprises the speeds uploaded by all vehicles at each road segment in a preset time; determining the remaining travel time when the vehicle passes by a next road segment in adjacent road segments according to the speed sequence of a former road segment in the adjacent road segments of the remaining travel, the speed sequence of the next road segment, and the length of the next road segment in the adjacent road segments; and determining the time of the remaining travel of the vehicle according to the remaining travel time of each road segment of the remaining travel. The method achieves a purpose of determining the time when the vehicle passes by each road segment according to the speeds of all vehicles at one road segment of the remaining travel, and determining the time of the remaining travel of the vehicle according to the actual driving condition of each road segment.
