The invention discloses a compensating device for an elevator driven by double main engines. The compensating device comprises at least one car platform pulley, a pulley block and a connecting mechanism; the car platform pulley is fixedly arranged at the bottom of an elevator lift car; the pulley block comprises a first pulley block body and a second pulley block body which are arranged in a liftway pit; and one end of the connecting mechanism is fixedly connected with a first counter-weight bottom of the elevator, and the other end of the connecting mechanism vertically bypasses the first pulley block body, the car platform pulley and the second pulley block body sequentially and finally is fixedly connected to a second counter-weight bottom of the elevator. By means of the compensating device, the problem that the compensating device is prone to being damaged when the double main engines of the elevator operate asynchronously is solved, and the problem that the single main engine of the elevator cannot be compensated is also solved.
