The invention relates to an elevator driven by four main engines synchronously. Four tractors and five guiding wheels are fixed to a machine room shelf beam. Four lift car diversion sheaves are installed on the front left portion, front right portion, rear left portion and rear right portion of the upper side of a lift car device respectively. Four counterweight diversion sheaves are installed on two counterweight devices. An elevator wire rope passes through one counterweight diversion sheave of the first counterweight device, bypasses a traction sheave of the first tractor, reaches one lift car diversion sheave, passes through two machine room guiding wheels, reaches another lift car diversion sheave, bypasses a traction sheave of the second tractor, downwards passes through one counterweight diversion sheave of the second counterweight device, upwards passes through one machine room guiding wheel, downwards passes through the other counterweight diversion sheave of the second counterweight device, upwards bypasses a traction sheave of the third tractor, reaches another lift car diversion sheave, passes through the other two machine room guiding wheels, reaches the other lift car diversion sheave, passes through a traction sheave of the fourth tractor, downwards passes through the other counterweight diversion sheave of the first counterweight device, and finally is fixed to the machine room shelf beam.
