The invention relates to a sliding rail with an overall locking mechanism and a handle installation method. Locking teeth and a lock body are of an integrated structure. The locking teeth are fixed to one end of the lock body and matched with locking grooves of a lower sliding rail. The sliding rail is further provided with a support, a handle spring and a locking spring. The support is connected with an upper sliding rail and the lock body. The handle spring is connected with a handle and the lock body. One end of the locking spring penetrates the upper sliding rail and the other end of the locking spring is connected with the lock body. The handle installation method includes the steps that the handle spring is hooked to a handle spring hook of the lock body; the handle is plugged in from one end of the lock body, the slope on the handle ejects the front end of the spring, the front end face of the slope touches a handle limiting protruding point, the front end of the spring exactly bounces back to the section of the handle, and therefore the handle is fixed into the lock body. The sliding rail is reasonable and simple in structural design, the locking teeth and the lock body are of the integrated structure, connecting reliability of the locking teeth and the lower sliding rail is good, strength is high, and abnormal sound cannot be produced in the use process; meanwhile, the handle installation method is convenient to implement and the handle can be detached and replaced.
