The invention provides an underwater breathing apparatus. The underwater breathing apparatus comprises a bottle cap, an air inlet, a water blocking plate, an air inlet bend pipe, a floating block, a water-absorbing body, a deflector hole, an air delivery pipe, a purifying bottle, a screw thread, a water-absorbing block, an air suction pipe, an air suction nasal mask (mouth muffle), an air suction port, a nasal mask (mouth muffle) band and a band regulating block, wherein the bottle cap is arranged on the top of an air collecting bottle to reduce inflowing of water, the air inlet is arranged below the bottle cap, the floating block exerts a buoyancy effect, the water-absorbing body is arranged at a lower part, the deflector hole allows the interior and the exterior of the air collecting bottle to be communicated, one end of the air delivery pipe is connected with the outlet of the air inlet bend pipe, the other end of the air delivery pipe extends to the end part of the purifying bottle, the purifying bottle can be opened via the screw thread, the water-absorbing block can absorb water entering the air delivery pipe, one end of the air suction pipe is connected with the end part of the purifying bottle, and the other end of the air suction pipe extends into the air suction port in the air suction nasal mask (mouth muffle). Compared with other underwater breathing apparatuses, the underwater breathing apparatus provided by the invention has the advantages of reasonable structure, simple manufacturing, low cost, safety, reliability, convenient usage and a wide application scope. With the underwater breathing apparatus, people can stay for a long time under water without oxygen, so cost is saved; and the underwater breathing apparatus can be extensively applied to underwater operation and underwater emergency search and rescue in the fishing industry, the aquaculture industry, reservoir site works and marine affairs, to swimming experience and posture training of beginners, to the tourist industry, etc.
