The invention belongs to the technical field of elevator products, and particularly discloses an elevator starting compensation device. The elevator starting compensation device comprises a power source, a traction machine driving device, a traction machine and a band-type brake which are sequentially connected, wherein the band-type brake is used for conducting band-type braking on the traction machine. The elevator starting compensation device further comprises a lift car counter-weight laterality detection device and an upper computer, wherein the lift car counter-weight laterality detection device is used for detecting laterality side information of the lift car side and the counter-weight side when the band-type brake is not opened, and the upper computer is connected between the lift car counter-weight laterality detection device and the traction machine driving device and is used for receiving the laterality side information detected by the lift car counter-weight laterality detection device and conducting repeated measurement on the starting compensation moment according to the information and the reduce-by-half principle. The elevator starting compensation device is simple in structure, safe and reliable in running and high in detection accuracy; by means of the compensation method, stable starting can be better achieved, and the comfort level of passengers during elevator taking is guaranteed.
