The invention relates to an infrared detecting instrument railway crossing alarm device. The alarm device comprises infrared detecting instruments ABE-150, transmission control cables, an Omron C20P host, a PLC control box, terminals, a socket, galvanized steel pipes, aluminum sheets, an electric bell, a 220V relay KA1, a 220V relay KA2, a 220V relay KA3, an uplink red indicating lamp, a downlink red indicating lamp, a horn, a 24V stabilized voltage power supply, a reset button and an audible and visual alarm. The infrared detecting instruments are installed on the two sides of a guide rail, the two sides of a railway crossing are each provided with two pairs of infrared detecting instruments, each pair of infrared detecting instruments is provided with a light emitter and a light receiver, the light emitters and the light receivers are installed correspondingly, three beams of light are aligned, when a train enters an infrared detecting instrument scanning region, the three beams of light are shield at the same time, contacts of the shielded infrared detecting instruments are closed, if the contact closing sequence condition preset by a PLC is met, the audible and visual alarm gives an alarm, and at the same time the electric bell is started. When a train leaves, the system is automatically reset.
