To suppress disturbance of control due to fluctuation in blade load and stabilize the wiping movement of a wiper blade near an inversion position in a wiper device for a vehicle. An electric motor is subjected to PWM duty control on the basis of a target speed (tgt spd) set according to the position of a wiper blade. From the deceleration start position of a wiping operation, the electric motor is driven at a PWM duty value (sld sta duty * Ksd) obtained by multiplying a PWM duty value (sld sta duty) at the deceleration start position by a predetermined deceleration factor (Ksd) set according to the blade position. The deceleration factor (Ksd) is set according to the position of the wiper blade on the basis of the ratio (tgt spd/pek tgt spd) between the target speed (pek tgt spd) of the wiper blade at the start of deceleration and the target speed (tgt spd) of the wiper blade.
