The workpiece (214) manipulation system comprises a lifting mechanism (204) to couple with the aircraft, an end-effector (210, 610), and a processor (116). The lifting mechanism (204) includes one or more joint actuators (208, 208a) to extend or retract the lifting mechanism (204) relative to the aircraft. The end-effector (210, 610) includes an end effector actuator (210, 610) to control an operation of the end-effector (210, 610) to manipulate the workpiece (204). The processor is communicatively coupled with the aircraft processor (116) and configured to control operation of the end-effector (210, 610) actuator and the one or more joint actuators (208, 208a).
