Provided is a remote control device capable of easily maintaining a transport device at a desired speed. A remote control device (10) is provided with an instruction unit (25), and a control device (26) that controls the speed of an unmanned helicopter (1) on the basis of an instruction from the instruction unit (25). The instruction unit (25) can alternatively output a speed change signal for changing the speed of the unmanned helicopter (1) or a speed determination signal for determining the speed of the unmanned helicopter (1). When the output from the instruction unit (25) is switched from the speed change signal to the speed determination signal, the control device (26) determines whether the speed of the unmanned helicopter (1) should be maintained or made zero on the basis of the result of comparison of speed information of the unmanned helicopter (1) and a threshold value. Preferably, the speed change signal is a signal that changes the speed of the unmanned helicopter (1) by varying the angle of upward or downward inclination of the nose of the unmanned helicopter (1) in such a manner as to correspond to the amount of operation of the instruction unit (25).
