Atmospheric levels of lead and carbon monoxide were studied at six locations in northeastern United States' city, wherein traffic density varied from zero to 99 vehicles/min; positive correlations have been developed between lead and traffic density, and between carbon monoxide and traffic density; correlations obtained conclusively point to vehicle exhaust as source of lead and carbon monoxide in atmosphere.
