Atlantis II, with steam turbine propulsion machinery, is to be 210-ft, 2100-ton, acoustically quiet, floating platform suitable for varying sonar functions; she will join fleet of Woods Hole Oceanographic Inst in early Spring, 1963; review of acoustic design study conducted in order to develop and incorporate quiet features in vessel design is given.
