Study made to measure time taken by tandem placed 2-man crews to perform escape sequences consisting of recognition of escape warning by pilot, communication between men, and operation of ejection seat firing controls; one method of positively reducing escape time is to so link seats that pilot, by operating one control, ejects observer and, in turn, himself; instructions for aircrew participating in escape trials; actions required by observer for four different escape sequences.
