New electric device for reduction of speed between modern high speed prime movers and drive shafts for mechanical applications where gear and coupling combined are ordinarily necessary, announced by Ridgway (Pa) Div of Elliott Co; developed by T. D. BOWES, it is being built in two types, reversing and non-reversing; three main elements, concentrically mounted, comprise Bowes drive: engine element bolted to prime mover shaft, shaft element coupled to driven shaft and stationary element.
