Problem of deriving vibration tests schedule for securely tied down vehicle cargo is examined; derivation is based on principle of equivalent damage which relates severity of field and laboratory environments; principle was applied in deriving test schedule to simulate cross-country and paved road transportation environments of truck and other automotive vehicles; schedule was combined with existing aircraft test schedule to present more complete transportation environment.
