Feasibility of defense against various forms of space and air attack by putting up satellite systems can be analyzed with help of simple statistical models based on classical mechanics and probability theory; analyses are presented for satellite defense against ICBMs, satellites, and aircraft; results show that, while ICBM attack heavily favors offense, crucial total weight requirement is remarkably low for other 2 forms of satellite defense.
