Russian cargo ship Alma Ata, converted to crab and fish canning vessel by Northwest Marine Iron Works, will operate in Okhotsk Sea, with Vladivostok as home port; outside skin of ship is heavily insulated with rock wool and fiberglas to repel extreme cold; on main deck are 18 two-ton davits for lifting and holding nine 42 ft fishing boats, tanks for cooking crabs, and conveyor for transporting dismembered crab legs from foredeck to afterdeck; brief note on canning equipment.
