Redesign of Apollo extra-vehicular mobility unit (EMU) spacesuit included following changes -- redesign of joints, using new technique which increased mobility while decreasing amount of effort wearer must exert to move pressurized suit; minimization of leakage points by redesign of neck openings, gas connection points and other features; increased comfort and decreased volume; details of joint arrangement; helmet design, thermal and micrometeoroid protection, and PLSS (portable life support system).
