Principal features of German Federal Railway locomotive built by Berliner Maschinenbau A. G. (L. Schwartzkopff); it operates at designed working pressure of 120 kg. per sq. cm. or 1700 lb. per sq. in.; weight has been kept same as that of standard express locomotive; Loeffler principle consists in evaporating water to steam in non-fired water and steam drum, by means of highly superheated steam, which is introduced into water in finely divided form.
