Some ventilating systems in passenger cars and their influence on rate of air flow in passenger compartment are shown; example shows pressure distribution along centerline of body and differences in pressure between possible body air inlets and outlets which determine rate of air flow with any system; ventilating methods are shown which satisfy requirements of increased air flow, reduced noise level and defined air flow in passenger compartment, prevention of water entry, and elimination of drafts; noise created by wind when windows are opened or when doors and windows are insufficiently sealed should be eliminated by specific ventilation openings.
