History of development of first ball-type joints and description of some types of constant velocity ball joints, Bendix-Weiss, Rzeppa, and improved versions of Rzeppa; low angle joints and various examples; independent suspension front drive automobiles using Rzeppa-type ball joints are being produced in Europe today in high volume and their advantages are considered; lubrication recommendations; selection of proper joint size for given application is based upon requirement factors which include maximum angularity, torque, speed of rotation, and type of service.
