Reviewing possibilities of steel with comparatively small copper content (0.2 to 0.3 per cent) in ship work, author concludes that all parts such as decks, erections, masts, and funnels exposed only to atmosphere, or other items exposed only to hot gases, could well be made of cupric steel with consequent gain in effective life.
