This study applies the integrated method to evaluate the regional spatiotemporal accessibility of Xiamen-Shenzhen HSR in south-eastern China. Our research shows that the HSR condenses spatial-temporal distances and improves the regional accessibility significantly. The spatial accessibility structure presents the “island” or “banding” shape. The HSR substantially modifies the map of regional accessibility by reducing travel times and brings the peripheral regions closer to the central city (Shenzhen), however it may also produce an increase of the core-periphery imbalances. The HSR also has a potential influence on industrial upgrading and collaboration with a shrinking distance. Finally, the stations in the core city are the chief beneficiaries of the new spatial order. The development around stations in the small or medium cities will be a long time process.
