With the rapid growth of car ownership, travel behavior, and activity space of residents have changed. It is therefore valuable to explore residents’ travel mode selection and public transportation facilities services. First, a Moran index was applied to analyze this relationship with survey data from Kunming, China. Then, the Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze differences of socio-economic attribute groups among residents in different regions. The results show that residents’ accessibility in the choice of travel mode is not an absolute factor, while travel habits have a more noticeable effect on actual travel. Further, the area with high public transport accessibility has a high car share rate, which is generally located in the area with dense urban residence and better economic conditions. Finally, based on analysis results, correspondingly effective suggestions were provided for problems in different areas, which can provide reference and support for urban planning and traffic planning.
