Overweight/oversized cargos become more common in cargo transportation. Improper transportation leads to the damage of vehicle, cargo, road and traffic facilities. This paper developed one convenient method to evaluate the safety of overweight/oversized cargo's transportation on road. It combines with advanced sensing technology and analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Vehicle carries sensors which collect information of road and environment, such as slop, width of road and height of obstacle, and weights of influence factor are according to the importance to safety transportation, all data is compared by decision-maker and analyzed by AHP, and then the degree of transportation safety is given by decision-maker.
