As an innovative mode of transit systems, customized buses (CB) have become increasingly popular in many Chinese cities. CB provides flexible demand-oriented transit services using Internet and smartphone apps. Compared with traditional bus transit systems, customized bus is more convenient, efficient and reliable in many ways. The travel demand of CB has a significant impact on the sharing rate of other transport modes. This paper focuses on the residents’ transport mode choice in Nanjing, China. A revealed preference (RP) survey and a stated preference (SP) survey are conducted to collect the required data of residents. A Multinomial Logit (MNL) model is established to analyse the modal split. SPSS is used to calibrate the model parameters and test the fitness of the model. Finally, the MNL model is practically used to predict transport mode choice of commuters.
