Wheel and rail defects will produce high impact on railway track structure which will reduce the service life of track components. These defects can be identified easily by wheel-rail contact force continuous testing. In this paper, a reduced scale model of wheel-track system was made to simulate the interaction between wheel and rail. Light rails and woods bar were used to make track and a small car with four wheels was used to simulate a bogie. The strain gages were installed on the rail web according the testing method developed by authors previously. A series of tests were conducted in laboratory and the results shows a high consistency between test results and numerical analysis. A signal processing method was developed to acquire continuous wheel-rail contact force from testing results.
