Due to the existence of zero cross slope section on the superelevation transition zone, the outside lane of the superelevation transition zone of expressways is often prone to water accumulation and accidents on rainy days. It is of great significance to study the impacts of superelevation transition mode on pavement water accumulation under rainfall conditions for enhancing vehicle driving safety. The water film thickness calculation model of road surface is obtained by using simulation model of HintCAD. From the perspective of conducive to pavement drainage, the superelevation transition methods of the expressway were improved, and the drainage effect was verified. It is proved that the superelevation transition method combined using different superelevation transition gradient on transition curve and adding a crown line can discharge the water accumulation of pavement of the superelevation transition zone to the maximum extent.
