Computational formulas for headway are proposed, and dynamic evolution of headway is further analyzed in this paper. Firstly, we divide the high-speed railway line into three areas according to the process of train operation. Secondly, different types of headway are computed respectively and the corresponding critical block sections are identified at the same time. Thirdly, a station with the typical layout is taken as an example. Considering length of block section, speed limitation, and train order mainly, dynamic evolution of headway and critical block section is obtained. Furthermore, sensitivity analysis is performed to identify vital factors of headway.
