Results of a test of the spatial transferability of Albatross are reported. Albatross is a rule-based model for predicting transportation demand developed for the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works, and Water Management. The test first uses the choice rules extracted from data pertaining to Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht to predict activity–travel patterns in Voorhout and Apeldoorn and then assesses the correspondence between observed and predicted activity–travel patterns in the latter municipalities. Results of this test indicate that the spatial transferability of the model is satisfactory.
