The transmission system is a core component of the hybrid vehicle. For the stability of vehicle power transmission, the Transmission Control Unit (TCU) must have communications with Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) and operation objects (such as drive motor, battery and so on) by CAN bus at the same time. In this paper, a CAN bus extension system based on C8051F500 and SST39LF512 was designed and completed the correct data sending and receiving, which met the communications requirements in hybrid vehicle control.
