The integrity of bonded layered structures is of paramount importance in the safe and reliable operation of aircraft equipment. A new NDE technique has been developed to determine the acoustical properties of multi-layered media using only time-domain information. Modified retrieve functions were introduced to obtain a closed form solution of the incident field, reflected field and the transmitted field, as well. This technique has been applied to measure the thickness and wavespeed of three-layered plate using low frequency (1-5 MHz) transducers. Good agreement was found between the measured and the 'true' values.
